Roots & Wire Press was founded by author and scholar Wendy Shaia as an independent home for work that asks readers to look more closely at the worlds we inherit, the structures we live within, and what becomes possible when people resist what was supposed to be inevitable.
Its name reflects the tension at the heart of the work: roots carry history, memory, connection, and possibility. Wire marks boundaries, structures, and constraint.
