What I Believe
A few convictions I keep returning to.
Not a mission statement. Not a list of values. These are the things I have come to believe after a lifetime of watching how human systems shape the people inside them.
01
Leadership is not a position. It is participation.
02
Systems produce exactly what they were designed to produce.
03
Helping can quietly reproduce the harm it means to repair.
04
Every system teaches people how to behave.
05
Imagination is a leadership practice.
06
To change a system, you first have to be able to see it.
These beliefs run through everything: the scholarship, the fiction, the teaching, and the rooms where I speak. If they resonate, there are more places to follow the thread.
